Aligned release - theme updates

I have chosen to release Aligned today, even though I have run into some minor issues with Firefox 3 RC1.

I must admit, that I really like this theme myself - I have chosen to make it the default theme on my blog for the time being. I love the lines, the grid, the randomized header images, and the small details in form fields etc.

The theme has been committed to the habari-extras trac, you can find it here.

You can download the theme from the trac, clicking this link, or by visiting my downloads page.

To test drive the theme, click here or switch the current theme using the theme switcher drop down in the sidebar.

Georgia and Habarism updates

Since the default About options field has been removed from Habari, I have removed support for the fields data in the themes. Instead I have added support for the Colophon plugin.

Aligned release delay

I must admit I acted a bit to fast yesterday - I won't be able to release Aligned today anyways.

I have been experiencing some very weird render issues with some browsers, that I need to resolve before I can release the theme. Simply, the borders aren't aligning in Firefox 3 RC1, but they are in Firefox 2 and Safari, and Opera almost has it right.

CSS will be tweaked to fit Internet Explorer in the end, that's not the biggest problem - luckily.

Tomorrow

1. 3D/4D ultrasound scanning

Tomorrow afternoon we have ordered time for a 3D/3D ultrasound scanning - we are very excited about it! Last time we had an ultrasound was almost 2 months ago, and we were told that everything was fine, and that they were 90% sure we are having a baby girl.

Tomorrow we will know the gender for sure, and we will see our little baby as she looks - I really can't wait. Of course I will upload some photos and short video clips to flickr.

My brother and his wife had their little son, Leander, this sunday - my first nephew. For the first time I had the chance to hold a newborn child (6-7 hours old) in my arms - what a wonderful feeling. Suddently it feels more real that we are having a baby as well.

2. Theme no 3 aka. Aligned

I have converted the HTML mockup to a working Habari theme, which you can see by clicking here, or by selecting Aligned from the theme switcher dropdown in the sidebar.

I have made a lot of changes and tweaks to the design since the HTML mockup I wrote about yesterday, especially the comment list and form layout - I really like how it has turned out. Currently I am working on cross browser problems.

The header image randomizes between 5 different photos - all are crops of some of my own photos, which are of course featured on my flickr photostream.

If I get time to make the last tweaks and get cross browser support in place, I will release the theme for download tomorrow.

Theme no 3

Shortly after releasing Georgia, I have begun working on my next Habari theme. This time with a little different approach - lot of lines and a slightly more visible grid system.

As with Georgia, I have started by making a static template, which you are welcome to see here (temporary link). Later I will add it to the theme switcher drop down in the sidebar.

Currently I am working on the design, the smaller details, and eliminating cross-browser bugs. Also, I really need a name for this? Help?
